2 mins agoAccording to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, relief pitcher Kenley Jansen has agreed to a one-year, $10 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. Jansen has spent the last two seasons with the Boston Red Sox after a brief stint with the Atlanta Braves and a long tenure with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Last season, Jansen posted a 3.29 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP across 54 2/3 innings. He struck out 62 batters and tallied 27 saves. He ended the season on the injured list with a shoulder injury but is not expected to be limited during spring training. He posted a below-average 9.2 percent walk rate but was able to limit hard contact with a strong 37.0 percent hard-hit rate. He also generated a 3.24 xERA and a .208 xBA, which placed him in the 82nd and 86th percentile, respectively. He has tallied at least 25 saves in each of the past four seasons. Joining the Angels, fantasy managers should expect Jansen to operate as the top ninth-inning option, which will move Ben Joyce to a setup role.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
