Ken Giles Shut Down For A Couple Weeks
3 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Ken Giles (finger) is dealing with a middle finger tendon issue and will be shut down for a couple of weeks. The good news is that surgery is not required, but Giles will obviously miss the start of the regular season and may be out for the first month. The 31-year-old was set to open the 2022 campaign in a closer committee with Drew Steckenrider and Paul Sewald. Giles underwent Tommy John surgery in 2020 and missed all of last year, so the injury issues keep coming. He'll have a chance to re-enter the closing picture in Seattle once he's healthy, but fantasy managers in mixed leagues can find better potential save candidates that are actually healthy.
