Ken Giles Ready To Bounce Back From Poor Postseason
7 years agoHouston Astros closer Ken Giles has enjoyed a strong spring training and hopes his poor postseason will be a thing of the past heading into the season. Giles had a fantastic regular season, posting a 2.30 ERA with 34 saves, and 83 strikeouts in 62 2/3 innings. Giles was as locked down as it gets but then struggled mightily in the postseason. It got so bad that Giles was barely used in the World Series and the Astros went with a closer-by-committee. Giles struck out 11 in 7 2/3 innings during the spring and appears to have his confidence back. The Astros are major favorites to win their division, so plenty of save opportunities should be in Giles' near future.
