Ken Giles Plays Catch Friday, No Timeline For Return Made
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays right-handed pitcher Ken Giles got two bits of positive news Friday as manager Charlie Montoyo deemed his MRI “good,” in addition to Giles himself saying he was also “good.” What’s also good for owners hoping to have Giles back soon is that he played catch Friday, presumably one of the last steps before getting back on the mound for a bullpen session. Anthony Bass has held down the closer’s role for the Blue Jays without Giles in the mix, and while his return may not be imminent without a timetable, he is presumably moving in the right direction toward a return in 2020.
