Ken Giles Gets First Save With the Blue Jays
6 years agoToronto Blue Jays reliever Ken Giles pitched a clean ninth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday to pick up his first save with the team. Giles has struggled early on in his Blue Jays tenure, but it seems as though the closer role is his for the time being. The former Houston Astro has had a difficult season, as evidenced by his 6.11 ERA and meager 13 saves, but he was one of the best closers in the league just a season ago. In terms of fantasy relevance, Giles should be owned in deeper leagues or if an owner is particularly desperate for saves. Giles may not receive a ton of save opportunities on a porous Blue Jays squad, but if today's outing was a sign of a turnaround, he will have a solid amount of value until the end of the season.
