Ken Giles Gets First Save in Two Weeks
5 years agoToronto closer Ken Giles shut down the Braves for his 17th save on Tuesday night, his first since August 13. The Blue Jays closer has been troubled with elbow issues over the last month but looked sharp on Tuesday, allowing Billy Hamilton to reach on a single before striking out Ronald Acuna Jr. and Freddie Freeman to end the game. In the month of August, Giles had three saves with a 2.57 ERA but save opportunities could continue to be few and far between, as the non-contending Blue Jays have lost seven of their last nine games.
