Kemba Walker Nets 10,000th Career Point
6 years agoCharlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker had his best overall game of the young season against the Miami Heat on Saturday night. Walker, who tallied 41 points in the team's season opener, poured in 39 points to go along with seven assists and five rebounds as the Hornets held off the Heat 113-112. The seventh-year pro became the first player in franchise history to reach 10,000 points when he converted a three-point play in the third quarter. Overall, he was 14-for-31 from the field and 7-for-15 from beyond the arc as well as 4-for-7 from the charity stripe. The 28-year-old has always been a high-volume scorer, but he is currently putting up shots at a career-high rate. Walker is also shooting the ball with incredible efficiency as he is averaging 13 made field goals and six triples a game through the first three contests. With Walker being the Hornets only true scoring threat, expect him to continue shooting at an unprecedented rate, especially from beyond the arc.
