Kelvin Gutierrez Hits His First Home Run Against Athletics
3 years agoKansas City Royals third baseman Kelvin Gutierrez had a strong game at the plate in the team's 11-2 loss to the Oakland Athletics on Saturday. Gutierrez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a triple. The home run was his first of the year. Gutierrez has had an everyday role for the Royals for about a month now since his mid-May call-up. Over 25 games, he's slashing .258/.266/.366. The 26-year-old showed a bit of power and speed in the minors. Over 75 games at Triple-A in 2019, he hit nine home runs and stole 12 bases. However, he has just two home runs and one stolen base over 49 MLB games. Until he starts to deliver either some power or stolen base production, he can be ignored for fantasy purposes.
