Keith Mitchell Looks To Shake Off Poor Sunday In Jackson At Black Desert Championship
1 month agoIt was a Sunday to forget, or at least the back nine, at Sanderson Farms last week for Keith Mitchell. He looked like a man on a mission after shooting 64-65 on Friday and Saturday, however, after turning at two-under on the final day, he struggled to find fairways down the stretch or get any putts to fall and ultimately finished one shot back of the lead. It has been a string of good events for the former Georgia golfer, as he's compiled finishes of T12, 12th, and T3 over his last three starts. He's managed to produce solid strokes-gained statistics across the board during that time outside of a one-tournament dip on approach, which was at the Wyndham Championship. That type of consistency is great to play into for DFS, but it isn't something Mitchell has done throughout his career. Given what occurred on Sunday in Mississippi, his lackluster ability on bent-grass putting surfaces (minus-0.68 strokes gained putting average on bent grass over the last 12 rounds), and the hefty-ish price tag of $12,000 on FanDuel, he's far from a must-play this week, even though the argument is there.
