Keegan Thompson Gets The Job Done In First Career Start
4 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Keegan Thompson made his first start of his career in Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Los Angeles Dodgers and picked up a no-decision. Thompson went 3 2/3 innings and allowed two hits, zero runs, two walks and struck out a pair on the evening. Thompson pitched well enough to earn another start down the line and with the earlier news of starting pitcher Jake Arrieta (thumb) being placed of the 10 day injured list, Thompson has a shot to remain the in rotation for the short term. Thompson can be left on the waiver wire with an uncertainty of his role beyond tonight.
