Keegan Akin Pitches Well In First Start Of Season Sunday
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles pitcher Keegan Akin did well in his first start of the season in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the White Sox. Akin pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing a single run on five hits (including a solo home run) and two walks with four strikeouts. The 26-year-old had pitched out of the bullpen to this point, but made the most of the start opportunity with most of the O's rotation struggling. He now has a 4.80 ERA on the season. It remains to be seen if Akin will continue to start, but he would get a nice matchup against Cleveland at home if he sticks for another round in the rotation.
