Ke’Bryan Hayes’ X-Rays Are Negative
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes had x-rays taken of his sore left wrist after he left Saturday's game early and they came back negative. The promising rookie walked and scored in his lone at-bat but was later replaced by pinch hitter Erik Gonzalez in the third inning. Hayes injured the wrist while diving back into the bag on a pickoff attempt. A loss of the young hitter for any length of time would be a huge blow to the rebuilding Pirates' lineup. He homered in his first game of 2021 and he's coming off a 2020 season that saw him hit .376 with a 195 wRC+ in 24 games — albeit with the aid of an unsustainable .450 BABIP. He's ranked by Rotoballer as the seventh-best rookie in 2021 redraft leagues.
