Ke'Bryan Hayes Unlikely To Make Opening Day Roster
5 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes, the team's No. 2 prospect, took part in a light workout on Monday after missing all of the summer camp workouts after testing positive for COVID-19. He tested negative twice and was cleared by doctors, but he likely missed too much time in camp to have a shot at making the Opening Day roster. The 23-year-old was a first-round pick in 2015 and should be the team's third baseman of the future, but he won't be guaranteed to make his big league debut during the shortened 2020 season. Hayes is probably ready to play third base at the next level as one of the best defensive third baseman in the minor leagues, but he's still developing offensively. Consider him a great stash in dynasty/keeper leagues.
