Ke'Bryan Hayes Remains Hot At The Plate Thursday
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes picked up his third extra-base hit in as many games Thursday, as he finished 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI in the Pirates' 6-1 victory over Atlanta. This moves Hayes' spring line to 4-for-8 with two doubles, a triple and two RBI through his first three games. Hayes is coming off a monster debut season in which he slashed .376/.442/.682 with five home runs and 11 RBI over 24 games, and he is set to take over the starting job at third base this year. His .294 xBA and .486 xSLG last year suggest that he was somewhat lucky at the plate and could be due for some regression, but he will still be one of the better power-hitting options at third in 2021.
