Ke'Bryan Hayes Gets Day Off Sunday
3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes is not in the lineup for the series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday. The 24-year-old will head to the bench as Pirates infielder Rodolfo Castro mans the hot corner and bats sixth. Hayes has had an injury-marred 2021 season, appearing in just 51 of the 104 games with a left wrist issue. Hayes has a disappointing four homers, 21 RBI, and 22 runs with a .257/.330/.396 line over 209 at-bats. To make matters worse, most of Hayes' underlying metrics have gone down since his solid rookie season. From a 5.6% barrel rate and .229 xBA to a 3.9 degree launch angle and 47.9% hard-hit rate, Hayes' sophomore season has been a disaster. The former top prospect remains a buy-low option in dynasty leagues, but keep an eye on how he closes out the year. Castro doesn't offer much value in DFS as he is facing a tough matchup in newly acquired Phillies pitcher Kyle Gibson.
