Kawhi Leonard Will Be Eased Into Action To Begin 2022-23
2 years agoLA Clippers small forward Kawhi Leonard (knee) has been cleared to play in 5-on-5 action during the upcoming NBA preseason, but that doesn't mean he will be a full-go to begin the year, per Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank. Leonard missed all of the 2021-22 year as he recovered from a torn right ACL, which he sustained during the '21 playoffs. Frank expressed "we will be very cautious and take a methodical approach," to Leonard's rehab, which could mean the 31-year-old will face some extensive early-season restrictions, along with potentially resting at least one leg of back-to-backs. DFS managers can continue to target Leonard when cleared -- he has averaged 26.2 PPG over his last 169 regular-season games -- although season-long managers will have a more difficult time calculating his overall output.

Kawhi Leonard Available For Friday
1 week agoLos Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (rest) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Friday's game against the New York Knicks. The superstar forward appears to be ready for action again after sitting out the second leg of the back-to-back set on Wednesday. The Clippers are going to continue resting the oft-injured forward, especially with the playoffs getting closer. Fantasy managers should expect Leonard to have his normal workload during Friday's game. When healthy, Leonard has been an excellent fantasy option, so make sure to plug him back into lineups ahead of Friday's contest.

Kawhi Leonard Still Not Cleared For Back-To-Backs Yet
2 weeks agoLos Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (rest) still hasn't been cleared for playing in back-to-backs yet. Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue reiterated this point to the media prior to Tuesday's loss to the Phoenix Suns. With that, don't expect Leonard to play in tonight's game against the Detroit Pistons. The plans for the 33-year-old are clearly to keep him healthy for the playoffs. Los Angeles is currently in the ninth seed in the West and holds a 3.5 game lead over the Suns in the 11th seed. With Leonard expected to sit, look for Derrick Jones Jr. to get the start if he's active as he's dealing with a groin issue. If neither are active, look for Amir Coffey or Nicolas Batum to play extended minutes.

Kawhi Leonard Ready To Play On Wednesday
3 weeks agoLos Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (foot) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game against the Chicago Bulls. The superstar forward is set to return to the court after missing each of the last two games due to a foot injury. The expectation is that Leonard is going to have his full workload on Wednesday. He figures to be one of the primary scoring options, especially with Norman Powell (knee) still sidelined. Fantasy managers should make sure they get Leonard active in their lineups ahead of Wednesday's game.
