Kawhi Leonard Injured On Christmas Day
Kawhi Leonard (face) was injured during the Christmas Day win over the Nuggets. The veteran sustained the injury late in the game after taking an inadvertent elbow from big man Serge Ibaka while going up for a rebound. After writhing in pain on the court while visibly bleeding, he was escorted to the locker room, where he was subsequently ruled out for the remainder of the contest. The 29-year-old was having a fantastic game before his departure, scoring 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting to go along with seven assists, five boards, three steals, and a block. Leonard's status for Sunday's matchup against the Mavericks is up in the air, with Luke Kennard, Ivica Zubac, and Lou Williams potentially getting some extra run if he can't suit up.
