6 years agoMinnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns scored 25 points, grabbed 18 caroms, doled out seven assists, blocked a shot and came away with two steals in Tuesday's victory over the Suns. The 23-year-old was 10-for-15 from the field, 2-for-4 from the three-point line and 3-for-5 from the free throw line. He did almost all of his work in the first half, tallying nine points in the opening quarter and then chipped in 11during the second stanza as he registered his 30th double-double of the season by halftime with 20 points along with 11 rebounds. The game marked his 11th game this season with at least 15 rebounds while the seven assists tied a season high. Towns, who is having his most productive month of the campaign, will look to top the 20-point plateau for the 10th time in 11 January outings against the Lakers on Thursday. The fourth-year pro has compiled two double-doubles in three games versus Lakers, collecting 22 points along with 14.3 rebounds, 1.7 three-pointers, 1.3 steals, 3.3 assists, and 3.7 blocks in the contests.--Daniel Benjamin

6 days agoNew York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) is questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers. KAT has only missed seven games this year. Yet, he has a sore left knee, so the team may keep him off the floor versus the 23-52 Sixers. If that's the case, Precious Achiuwa and Mitchell Robinson may see more action. However, Achiuwa would likely be the safer fantasy option, considering Robinson hasn't logged more than 24 minutes in a game since being cleared to play just over a month ago. Towns' absence will likely open the door for added production from Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, and OG Anunoby.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

1 month agoNew York Knicks forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns (personal) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Thursday's clash against the Los Angeles Lakers. He is set to return to action after missing one game for personal reasons. Now that Towns is available again, Mitchell Robinson (ankle) will likely head back to the second unit. Precious Achiuwa (hamstring) may fall out of the rotation entirely if he is cleared for action. Both he and Robinson are carrying questionable tags ahead of Thursday's game.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

1 month agoJames L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports that New York Knicks forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns (personal) will be out against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. Towns have regularly appeared on the injury report due to a knee issue, but for tonight's contest, he is out for personal reasons. Fortunately for the Knicks, Mitchell Robinson has just made his season debut and will help fill some of Towns' minutes against the Warriors. Precious Achiuwa will undoubtedly see an uptick in minutes and scoring opportunities with Towns on the shelf this evening.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

1 month agoNew York Knicks forward/center Karl-Anthony Towns (personal) has been deemed questionable for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. Towns has regularly appeared on the injury report due to a knee issue, but on this occasion, he is uncertain to play for personal reasons. Fortunately for the Knicks, Mitchell Robinson has just made his season debut and will help fill some of Towns' minutes if he doesn't play against the Warriors. Precious Achiuwa, who featured for only four minutes in the last game, would certainly see an increase in playing time as well.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
