Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn missed his first kick of the season in the team's 31-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2. Fairbairn connected on his first two field goals in the contest, a 29-yard try and a 36-yard attempt. But he then missed a 51-yard attempt with just under three minutes remaining in the game. The kicker, though, did go a perfect 2-for-2 on extra points on Sunday. He'll have another opportunity to go perfect next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road.--Joey Pollizze - RotoBaller

Coming off 12 points in the Wild Card round, Ka'imi Fairbairn faces what is likely the toughest matchup for any starting kicker this weekend when the underdog Houston Texans travel to Kansas City in the Divisional Round. The Chiefs were one of the worst draws for fantasy kickers during the regular season, ranking No. 2 overall against them, while Houston's offense is averaging just 19 offensive points per game since the start of December. Additionally, temperatures are expected to be well below freezing on Saturday, a poor setting for field-goal kicking. All together, Fairbairn is attached to an average offense as a road underdog in bad conditions, which means managers in DFS formats should try for another option if possible.--Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBaller

Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn was perfect in his team's 32-12 Wild Card victory against the Los Angeles Chargers, converting all three of his field goal attempts and all three extra points to help Houston advance. The longtime Texans kicker made easy work of a range of short and midrange field goals, making kicks from 41, 37, and 30 yards as Houston held the lead for the entire second half. The 30-year-old will have at least one more game as the Texans' win secured a place in the Divisional Round next week.--Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBaller

Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn will face a difficult matchup in Round 1 of the NFL playoffs when his team plays host to the Los Angeles Chargers on wild-card weekend. L.A. is one of the stronger teams against fantasy kickers, ranking seventh, but the bigger concern has been the offense to which Fairbairn is attached. The Houston offense has averaged a paltry 15.6 points across its past five games prior to the playoffs, which included the offense failing to score on Christmas Day against Baltimore. The Texans' recent performances and a Chargers defense that ranks fourth in scoring percentage allowed do not bode well for the veteran kicker. Fantasy managers in playoff formats should look for a stronger matchup elsewhere.--Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBaller

Though Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn has been a top-tier fantasy option this season, he should be avoided in a dodgy Week 18 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. The veteran has an OK matchup against a Titans team that ranks right in the middle against fantasy kickers, but he comes with risk due to Houston's playoff positioning. The Texans already have locked down the AFC South and the No. 4 seed, so Sunday's results have no effect on them. Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans said he intends to start the team's regulars, but with much bigger fish to fry next week and nothing to gain Sunday, he certainly will be thinking ahead. As a result, Fairbairn's DFS value in Week 18 has to be tied to the likelihood he will be attached to a second-string offense at some point in the game.--Nick Piotrowicz - RotoBaller
