Dallas Mavericks center Kai Jones (quadriceps) will not be in the lineup on Friday against the Houston Rockets. The athletic big man has been downgraded from questionable to out, marking his sixth consecutive missed contest. With Jones still out on Friday, Dwight Powell looks set to remain in the rotation. However, the Canadian center has very little fantasy value. Even with Dallas lacking frontcourt options, Powell has been limited to 13.9 minutes per game this month, averaging 4.6 points and 3.3 rebounds.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Dallas Mavericks center Kai Jones (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks. Initially, the team listed him as questionable for the game. Jones sparked a lot of excitement among fantasy managers when he debuted for the Mavericks with 21 points and eight rebounds on Monday against the Sacramento Kings. However, he has suffered a left quadriceps strain, and it's unclear when he will be able to suit up next. Dallas is severely short on players Wednesday, which could lead to Dwight Powell logging major minutes at center.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Charlotte Hornets center Kai Jones has been waived by the organization on Wednesday. This doesn't come as a surprise given recent events. Before training camp, it was announced that Jones was going to be away from the team for personal reasons. The Hornets decided to separate themselves from Jones after he called out his teammates on social media and missed workouts. After that, he requested a trade from the organization on social media. Two days later, the Hornets waived Jones, which seems fair given the circumstances. It remains to be seen if another organization will take a risk on the former first round pick.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Charlotte Hornets center Kai Jones has requested a trade from the organization on Monday. The 22-year-old has been away from the team recently due to personal reasons. Jones has put himself in a bad spot after calling out teammates on social media and missing workouts. It sounds like the Hornets are trying to separate themselves from the former 19th overall pick. Jones is unlikely to have much trade value considering he hasn't made a significant impact in two seasons. Possibly, another team takes a chance on him, but there's probably not going to be a big market considering his recent off-the-court incidents.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Charlotte Hornets forward/center Kai Jones will sit out training camp for personal reasons, the team announced. The announcement came after Jones had recently made several bizarre social media posts. The 22-year-old was the 19th pick in the 2021 draft and has been a backup big for the team, playing in 67 games and averaging 9.1 minutes in his first two seasons in the league. One of his posts criticized Hornets starting center Mark Williams, which can't be good for team morale. On social media, Jones has also called himself a better player than Hornets star LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, the team's top pick in this year's draft.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
