Juuse Saros Locked In For Three Years
6 years agoThe Nashville Predators inked restricted free-agent goaltender Juuse Saros to a three-year contract worth $4.5 million. The former fourth-round pick was a highly-touted goalie prospect and is growing into a very serviceable backup with high upside. Starter Pekka Rinne has just one year remaining on his current contract, but still has some game left, even at 35. Saros’ AAV of $1.5 million is not indicative of starter money, so it would seem that the Preds will look to extend Rinne. At any rate, this is a total bargain for Nashville. Saros has a 21-14-10 record lifetime and posted three shutouts in 26 games last season.
