Justin Verlander Continues Dominant Season
5 years agoRelative to his last start - a 14-strikeout, no-hitter against the Blue Jays - Houston Astros starting pitcher Justin Verlander was ho-hum on Saturday night, beating Seattle 2-1. Verlander was hit around by the Mariners, giving up one run on four hits while striking out only seven in seven innings. Seemingly saving his best pitching for the end of the season, the 36-year-old right-hander now sports a 2.52 ERA with 264 strikeouts in 200 innings and is set to take on Oakland at home next Thursday.
