Justin Turner Close To Swinging A Bat
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner (wrist) is recovering well enough that he may start swinging a bat soon. That's welcome news for the Dodgers since Turner is their best hitter and they were unable to get anything started on Opening Day against a Madison Bumgarner-less Giants. Turner was hit by a pitch on March 19 by Kendall Graveman and suffered a wrist fracture. However, as far as broken wrists go, this one was relatively minor. Rather than wearing a cast (as Freddie Freeman did last season), Turner immediately started doing range-of-motion exercises. Still, Turner won't return until May and both he and the team will take it easy since another World Series is in their sights. Turner still has value for his power and on-base skills. Keep him stashed in the meantime.
