Justin Thomas Continues To Spark But Hopes To Keep It Lit At Innisbrook
53 seconds agoIt was a weird week for Justin Thomas at TPC Sawgrass, as the course record-tying 62 shot on Friday was coupled with three rather uninspiring rounds. Looking back, his great second day was needed just to make the weekend after an opening round, 78 had things looking bleak for the former Players Champion. That speaks to the talent that the 31-year-old still has, but the frustrating reality of the state of his golf game for the last couple of years. This week's event at Innisbrook has been a somewhat frequent stop for J.T. through the years. In seven career starts, he's racked up one top 5, two top 10s, and two top 20s; mostly due to great ball striking. Over his last 16 rounds on the Copperhead Course, the former Alabama golfer has averaged +1.258 strokes gained on approach. This week could be a much-needed confidence booster depending on what player shows up to the first tee on Thursday. Regardless, Thomas is worth whatever the risk, even at $11,900 on FanDuel.
