Justin Steele Picks Up Loss In First Start
3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Justin Steele picked up the loss in his first career start versus the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader. Steele worked out of the bullpen earlier this season and pitched well, but the Cubs recently stretched him out in Triple-A Iowa with the club beginning a rebuild. Steele went five innings on the afternoon and allowed five hits, three runs, one walk and struck out one. Steele held his own, but got hurt by a solo home run by Willy Adames and a two-run homer by Avisail Garcia. The Cubs are switching to a six-man rotation and Steele is worth keeping an eye on. Steele is now 2-1 with a 2.95 ERA and will face the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.
