1 year agoJustin Haley had another strong run at Circuit of the Americas on Sunday, qualifying 13th and crossing the finish line in 17th. The No. 51 Ford was 18th-fastest in Green Flag Speed during the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix and ranked 11th-best in Average Running Position. However, during post-race inspection, Haley's car was found to be too light and he was disqualified from the event. Due to the DQ, Haley will be credited with a 39th-place finish for the race. The statement from Rick Ware Racing regarding the disqualification was simply, "The car was just too light in post-race inspection."--Jordan McAbee

1 week agoSpire Motorsports driver Justin Haley will start 30th for this week's race at Martinsville Speedway. Haley was the lowest qualifying driver of the three entries for Spire in this week's race. In eight races at Martinsville, Haley has never placed better than 27th and only gained positive place differential in three different Cup events. Through six races in the 2025 season, Haley has four top-20 finishes and has nabbed positive PD four times. In practice, Haley ranked 33rd in overall lap averages and 36th in 10 consecutive lap averages, while his hood came up, which limited his practice time. Despite a cheap salary below $6,000 on DraftKings and a deep starting position, Martinsville is one of Haley's worst tracks in the Cup Series. Fade the No. 7 Chevrolet driver due to his poor history and slow practice speeds this week.--Sean Engel - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoAfter a string of futility in his first half-season as a Spire Motorsports driver, Justin Haley earned his first top-10 finish on a non-drafting oval at Homestead on Sunday. In a race that had relatively little attrition, Haley started 21st and steadily worked his way through the pack during the race, finishing 15th at the end of Stage 1 and 20th in Stage 2 before he made a solid charge from 15th to 10th after the restart following Ryan Blaney's engine failure. This marks the second consecutive week that Haley has been the highest-finishing Spire driver in a race, and his finish moved him up four positions in points to 24th. However, it doesn't look like he will be seriously contending for wins anytime soon.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoThe last time the NASCAR Cup Series was at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Justin Haley had a day to forget. After having a solid qualifying effort and starting 10th, Haley got spun on the first lap of the race (while running in sixth) and ultimately ended up finishing 34th when it was all said and done and spinning again later in the race. Don't let those mishaps stop you from considering Haley in your DraftKings lineups this time around, though. At $6,400 on the DFS site, Haley is a pretty cheap option with decent upside. He qualified 21st for Sunday's Straight Talk Wireless 400 and showed good speed in practice, ending up sixth-quickest in 25-lap average. Last weekend at Las Vegas, Haley rebounded from a 33rd-place starting spot to finish 14th at Las Vegas, and if the No. 7 Chevrolet has the same speed during the race as it did in practice, it wouldn't be overly surprising to see Haley contend for a top-10 finish. He's a tournament option to consider being overweight on in DraftKings this weekend. --Jordan McAbee

3 weeks agoIn a puzzling qualifying session, Michael McDowell won the pole while his Spire Motorsports teammates Carson Hocevar and Justin Haley only qualified 25th and 33rd, respectively. Nonetheless, based on qualifying, Spire has seemed to have an uptick in speed this year and Spire at least is a Hendrick Motorsports satellite at a track where HMS frequently dominates. Even though Haley has generally underachieved since he took over the No. 7 Spire car late last year, it seems he likely has a lot of value since he earned top-20 finishes in four of the five Next Gen-era races in which he didn't have a Rick Ware car. In three of those, he had top-20 average running positions. When you also consider that Corey LaJoie had a 13th-place ARP last year, Haley is likely one of the best DFS underdog plays.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
