Justin Foscue Sent Back To Minors
4 months agoThe Texas Rangers optioned infielders Justin Foscue and Jonathan Ornelas and catcher Andrew Knizner to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday among a flurry of roster moves. Foscue, the club's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has come up for a few cups of coffee at the big-league level this year but has only appeared in seven games and has gone 2-for-19 (.105) with a double, RBI and seven strikeouts. The 25-year-old wasn't playing against right-handers and didn't have a clear path to playing time with Josh Jung (wrist) returning from the injured list on Monday. The former first-rounder in 2020 out of Mississippi State will now return to Round Rock, where he's hit .241/.412/.405 with an .817 OPS, three homers and 15 RBI in 23 games this year. Foscue is only a stash candidate in dynasty/keeper leagues for his power -- he hit a career-high 18 homers at Round Rock in 2023.
