Justin Fields Will Play In Preseason Opener
1 year agoChicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields will play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans, according to head coach Matt Eberflus. Fields is looking to take the next step as a passer in 2023 after becoming just the third quarterback in NFL history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season last year. All of a sudden, Fields has solid weapons to work with in DJ Moore, Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool, Velus Jones Jr., Tyler Scott, Cole Kmet, and Robert Tonyan. Eberflus said some other starters will participate in Saturday's game, so Fields' progression as a passer will be worth monitoring. That said, it's important not to overreact to preseason performances.
