The Athletic's Jon Greenberg writes that it seems unlikely that the Chicago Bears would let quarterback Justin Fields (shoulder) play with his injury, particularly given the context (the Bears are 3-8) and the style of Fields' play. "I just feel like if I can play and that I'm not furthering the risk of injury and I can do what I need to do to be able to protect myself, I think that'll be good enough for me to play," Fields said. The 23-year-old got in some practice work on Wednesday, but he's dealing with a separated left shoulder and partially torn ligaments, so it's a pretty serious injury, even if it's to his non-throwing shoulder. Fields says he feels pain every time he throws.
