Justin Fields To Sit Again, Andy Dalton To Start Against Cardinals
3 years agoChicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy said that quarterback Andy Dalton will start on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, with rookie first-rounder Justin Fields (ribs) sitting out his second straight game with fractured ribs. Nick Foles will serve as Dalton's backup in Week 13. It was assumed that Fields would return under center this weekend after fracturing his ribs in Week 11 and missing the Thanksgiving win over the Detroit Lions, but apparently the Bears want to play it safe and give him an extra week to rest. Fields was limited in practice this week, so he'll probably have a good shot at returning in Week 14. Dalton threw for over 300 yards against the Lions last Thursday with one touchdown and one interception, but he won't have much fantasy upside as a QB2 streamer against a Cardinals defense that is allowing the fourth-fewest passing yards per game (204). Dalton is likely to be without receivers Allen Robinson II (hamstring) and Marquise Goodwin (foot, ribs) for the second straight game as well.
