Junior Caminero Remains A Top-Tier Prospect
1 year agoTampa Bay Rays infield prospect Junior Caminero will enter the second half after a very strong first half of the season for Double-A Montgomery. The 20-year-old out of the Dominican Republic has done nothing but perform since being acquired from the Guardians in 2021 and has been an absolute machine for Montgomery this season. On the year, Caminero is hitting .333 with 16 homers and 52 RBI. He has also sprinkled in three stolen bases. Caminero's defense in behind his offense, but his elite bat speed and raw power continue to be strong traits for the future Ray and have propelled him to the top of many prospect lists this season. There is a chance that the Rays could be bold and promote him in 2023, but that is far from a guarantee. One of the best prospects in the game, he should be rostered in all dynasty leagues. If he gets a surprise promotion this season, managers should run to the waiver wire for him, but he can remain on the wire for now in redraft leagues.
