Julio Teheran Could Return Sunday Against Padres
6 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran (thumb) might be ready to return from his stint on the 10-day disabled list. Teheran has been sidelined since June 5 with a right thumb contusion, but will throw another bullpen session on Thursday. If the pitcher doesn’t have any setbacks, he could start Sunday against the San Diego Padres. Teheran has been a serious letdown for fantasy owners this season, pitching to the tune of a 4.31 ERA and a 4-4 record. It might be too early to give up on him, especially with the way the Braves are hitting, so owners will have to hope that the 27-year-old turns it around when he returns. A matchup against the weak-hitting Friars would be tempting, too.
