Julio Teheran Hurls Six No-Hit Innings, Leaves With Cramp
6 years agoUpdating a previous report, Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran (hamstring) returned from the disabled list to dominate the San Diego Padres on Sunday. The Braves secured a 4-1 victory, riding the coattails of Teheran’s resurgent performance. Making his way back from a thumb contusion, Teheran shut out the Padres for six innings. He allowed no hits and fanned a season-high 11 batters. Fantasy owners must have let out a sigh of relief as the strikeouts piled up, but the dream situation nearly turned into a nightmare in the sixth inning. Teheran’s right hamstring cramped up on him and his day ended at 95 pitches. He’s considered day-to-day now, and fantasy owners should probably take his return performance with a grain of salt considering it was against the Padres anemic offense. His next start has not yet been scheduled, but he may get the chance to face off against the disastrous Orioles next.
