Julio Rodriguez Drives In A Run, Steals Home
1 year agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez helped lead the team to victory on Wednesday by going 1-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored, a stolen base, and two strikeouts in a 6-3 win over the Boston Red Sox. J-Rod was doing nothing at the dish, including a pair of strikeouts, until the bottom of the seventh when he smacked a go-ahead RBI single off Richard Bleier. He then stole home on a double steal attempt with teammate Eugenio Suarez later in the same frame to extend Seattle's lead. It's been an up-and-down season for the 22-year-old All-Star but he's been flashing his elite upside over the last few series. Overall, he's slashing .251/.313/.419 with 17 home runs, 58 RBI, and 25 stolen bases over 439 at-bats on the year. While the rate stats leave a lot to be desired, his 25 swipes already match last season's total and he's gone deep four times over the last 11 games. He could get hot over the final two months and make good on his round-one ADP from the spring.
