1 year agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez helped lead the team to victory on Wednesday by going 1-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored, a stolen base, and two strikeouts in a 6-3 win over the Boston Red Sox. J-Rod was doing nothing at the dish, including a pair of strikeouts, until the bottom of the seventh when he smacked a go-ahead RBI single off Richard Bleier. He then stole home on a double steal attempt with teammate Eugenio Suarez later in the same frame to extend Seattle's lead. It's been an up-and-down season for the 22-year-old All-Star but he's been flashing his elite upside over the last few series. Overall, he's slashing .251/.313/.419 with 17 home runs, 58 RBI, and 25 stolen bases over 439 at-bats on the year. While the rate stats leave a lot to be desired, his 25 swipes already match last season's total and he's gone deep four times over the last 11 games.
