Juan Soto Dealing With Inflammation, Out On Friday
6 months agoThe initial prognosis on New York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto (forearm) is that he's only dealing with left-forearm inflammation, which is great news for the Yankees and fantasy managers. However, he will take a seat on Friday in the Bronx for the series opener against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers. Aaron Judge will shift to right field and will bat third, Trent Grisham will man center field and hit eighth, and Alex Verdugo will play left and occupy the two-hole against Dodgers right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Soto was removed from Thursday's win over the Minnesota Twins with left-forearm discomfort as a precaution, and tests on Friday have so far ruled out any kind of significant injury for the superstar. It's an issue that Soto has been battling through recently. The 25-year-old should be considered day-to-day. Check back on Saturday to see if he's back in action. UPDATE: Manager Aaron Boone said he expects Soto to avoid the injured list.
