Juan Soto Cracks Three Hits Sunday Afternoon
3 months agoNew York Yankees outfielder Juan Soto continued his fantastic first season in the Bronx Sunday afternoon, going 3-for-5 with an RBI-double and a run scored in a 6-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Soto almost kept the Yankees' comeback hopes alive as his RBI hit brought the tying run up into the bottom of the ninth inning before Aaron Judge and Austin Wells were retired to end the game. The soon-to-be free agent has scorched the baseball in the three games after the All-Star break, going 8-for-13 which has raised his season batting average to a stellar .307. It looked like for the last couple of seasons that Juan Soto was going to regret rejecting that $440 million offer from the Nationals, but after the 2024 season he's having, assuming he continues this for the remainder of the season, it wouldn't be shocking for him to get offers in that range during the 2024-2025 offseason. Look for him to continue to be a spark plug in front of Aaron Judge for the remainder of the season.
