JT Brubaker Strikes Out Six In Four Innings Monday
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher JT Brubaker struck out six batters over four innings in his season debut on Monday. Brubaker was lifted after throwing 82 pitches and allowing just one run on three hits and four walks against the Reds, and he did not get a decision in the start. The walks were a little high, but otherwise it was a fairly solid outing for Brubaker, who made his major league debut in 2020 and went 1-3 with a 4.94 ERA and a 23.4 percent strikeout rate in 47 1/3 innings. His next start is scheduled to come against the Cubs, and he is a sneaky good streaming option in that outing, as he beat up on Chicago with a 1.84 ERA and 28.8 percent strikeout rate in two starts and one relief appearance against the Cubs last season.
