Josiah Gray Suffers Loss In Quality Start Friday
3 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Josiah Gray allowed three earned runs while striking out six across six innings pitched in a 4-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves on Friday night. The 23-year-old was plagued by the long ball as he allowed three solo homers during the quality start. On the surface, Gray has been solid in his first three starts with the Nationals, posting a 2.81 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 18 K in 16 innings pitched. However, the right-hander is sporting a 5.74 FIP and could be looking at some negative regression soon. Gray's next start will be Wednesday in a difficult matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays.
