2 years agoBoston Red Sox pitcher Josh Winckowski will begin the regular season in the bullpen. The 24-year-old was mainly a starter with the team last season. However, he struggled with a 5.89 ERA with 10 home runs allowed in 15 games (14 starts) in 2022. The right-hander looked much better this spring, allowing two unearned runs with 10 strikeouts over 10 innings of work. His move to the bullpen should open up a spot for Kutter Crawford in the starting rotation. There's a good chance that Winckowski operates as the swingman in the Red Sox bullpen.
