Josh Winckowski Saves Tuesday's Contest
2 years agoBoston Red Sox right-hander Josh Winckowski picked up his first save of the season on Tuesday when he finished the 7-6 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. He went one inning, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out zero. The 24-year-old Winckowski has been lights out for the Sox thus far, posting a 1.61 ERA with 17 strikeouts, five walks, and three holds over 22.1 innings. With Kenley Jansen (back) day-to-day, the club needed someone to step into his shoes. However, don't expect Winckowski to see many more opportunities, as Jansen should be back in a day or two.
