4 years agoThe Arizona Diamondbacks optioned second baseman Josh VanMeter to Triple-A on Sunday. The move was made in conjunction with the activation of starting pitcher Taylor Widener (groin) from the injured list. VanMeter has had a rough year at the plate. Over 37 games, he has a .159/.280/.261 slash line with just one home run to go along with seven RBI and 10 runs. The team recently got second baseman Ketel Marte back from the injured list, making VanMeter less essential.
