Josh Sborz Placed On 60-Day Injured List
2 days agoTexas Rangers relief pitcher Josh Sborz (shoulder) was placed on the 60-day injured list earlier on Monday. This transaction opened a roster spot for right-handed pitcher Luke Jackson, who the team signed to a one-year contract on Monday. Sborz underwent shoulder surgery earlier in the offseason and is expected to miss the opening months of the 2025 campaign. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status. Last season, Sborz logged just 16 1/3 innings at the major league level as he battled the same shoulder injury. Across this small stint, the 31-year-old held a 3.86 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP. He was very effective during their World Series run in 2023, as he posted a near-perfect 0.75 ERA and a 0.67 WHIP with a 4:13 BB:K ratio across 12 frames. When he does return, Sborz should have a high-leverage role in the Texas bullpen.
