Josh Rojas Diagnosed With Grade 2 Oblique Strain
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks third baseman Josh Rojas (oblique) has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 right oblique strain. According to Diamondbacks manager, Rojas will be out for "weeks, not days." Rojas, who was lined up to start at third base for the D-backs, will be opening the season on the injured list, as will Nick Ahmed (shoulder), who was slated to be the team's starter at shortstop. The right side of the Diamondbacks infield is now up for grabs to start the year. Geraldo Perdomo, one of the team's top prospects, is the leading candidate to open the year as the starter at short. Meanwhile Sergio Alcantara, who was recently acquired in a trade with the Chicago Cubs, is the best bet to start at third.
