Josh Jung Won't Return Until After All-Star Break
5 months agoTexas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that the team is shutting down third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) until next week to rest his surgically repaired wrist. If all goes well, Jung could start a minor-league rehab assignment next week, but he won't return until after the All-Star break. This really isn't a big surprise after the 26-year-old right-handed power hitter had his swinging session pushed back over the weekend due to soreness in his right wrist. He has not swung a bat since June 20, but the good news is that he's not dealing with any structural damage. Jung played in just four games this year before injuring his wrist on a hit-by-pitch but he should be rostered in all fantasy formats in an injured-list spot until he returns. Josh Smith will continue to benefit from regular playing time at the hot corner in Texas while Jung is sidelined.
