Josh Jung To Undergo Surgery For Stress Fracture In Foot
4 years agoTexas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (foot) will undergo surgery to have a screw placed after suffering a stress fracture in his left foot, reports Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. Jung — the top ranked prospect in Texas' system according to MLBPipeline — is expected to miss six to eight weeks following surgery. In 10 games this spring, Jung was slashing .286/.333/.286 with two RBI. He wasn't likely to make the Opening Day roster prior to the injury, but Grant adds that it appears the door is open for a potential call-up later in the year if Jung puts up big numbers in the minors.
