9 months agoTexas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (calf) is set to have an MRI on his left calf after feeling some discomfort in a workout on Friday morning. The 26-year-old enjoyed a potent rookie season in 2023 as he slugged 23 home runs alongside a .782 OPS across 122 games, missing time late in the season with a hand injury. His offensive output was good enough to land him his first All-Star appearance while he finished fourth in American League Rookie of the Year voting. Jung does have some swing-and-miss in his game as evidenced by his 29.3% K% from a season ago while he walked in just 5.8% of his plate appearances, hurting his overall value at the plate. However, his raw power is absolutely worth an investment on draft day.--Brenton Kemp
