Josh Jung Ready To Go For Spring Training
24 seconds agoTexas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) is excited to be fully healthy for spring training after undergoing two surgeries on his wrist last year, according to the Dallas Morning News' Shawn McFarland. Jung was an All-Star for the Rangers in 2023 in his first full big-league season, but he still managed to play in only 122 regular-season games that year while slashing .266/.315/.467 with 23 home runs and 70 RBI in 515 plate appearances. He played in only 46 games last year and hit .264 (47-for-178) with seven long balls, 16 RBI and four stolen bases. The 27-year-old has intriguing power potential, especially in what should be a strong Rangers lineup, but the injury risk is real. He's hit 35 homers in 805 big-league plate appearances but also played in just 168 of 324 possible games. Jung shouldn't be your starter at third base, but he's a solid power target as a corner infield option in mixed fantasy leagues.
