Josh Jung Leaves Early Following Hit By Pitch Wednesday
2 years agoTexas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung left Wednesday afternoon's contest against the Reds early after being hit on the hand by a pitch. The good news is Jung initially stayed in the game and played defense in the bottom of the second and X-rays for a fracture came back negative. While it seems he will avoid any serious injury, losing Jung would be a notable blow for the Rangers considering his hot start to the season. Prior to Wednesday's contest, the 25-year-old was hitting .281 with five homers and an .820 OPS across his first 22 games of the season. Ezequiel Duran replaced Jung in the Rangers' lineup and struck out in his first plate appearance.
