Josh Jung Could Be Close To Rehab Assignment
4 months agoTexas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (wrist) is set to begin swinging a regular bat on Sunday and could be close to beginning a rehab assignment after the All-Star Break, according to Shawn McFarland of the Dallas News. The third baseman expressed that, "Tomorrow is the big test." Jung has been swinging a light bat but is now set to begin swinging a regular bat. The former eighth-overall pick began a rehab assignment in June but sustained a wrist injury, which further pushed back his potential return date. Jung played in only four games this season in the opening week of the season before hitting the injured list. The Texas Tech product should see full-time duties at the hot corner in Texas once he returns and should produce strong counting stats batting in the middle of the Rangers lineup.
