Josh Hart Accepts Player Option
1 year agoNew York Knicks forward Josh Hart has decided to opt-in to his $12.9 million player option for next season. The two sides have been reportedly discussing an extension, but it sounds like they will put that on pause for now. Next offseason, the Knicks will be able to offer Hart a four year, $81 million contract. The 28-year-old has expressed interest in staying in New York long term, so it just seems like a matter of time before a deal gets done. Hart was solid during his stint with the team last season. He averaged 10.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 25 games with New York. The expectation is that Hart is going to play a significant role in the rotation going forward.
